Apparently, due to all the controversy, they had to choose another one. Good job at restoring the good name of DA. So, congrats to the new official winner who probably is going OMG right now to:

This is a much better choice, still commercial for the event, but at least it represents the entire DA community in a much better light. And it wasn't traced, or "referenced" like the 1st winner's artist tried to explain.

Just so you all know, referenced means that you only took one or two things. Traced means you took the whole thing. I hate to say it, but the evidence was way too convincing to discredit the artist. Sorry.

So then now that is settled.....

~ Why you ask? Anime and Manga is all about the details in a photo. The colors used, the paterns designs and movements are what make anime and manga a unique art form that is set apart from others. I think this photo embodies that. It captures your eyes with it's color and designs, and makes you have to stare at it for a long while in order to get the whole effect of the drawing as well as all the small details that this artist used. I wonder if this artist has a non-promo one, cause I would totally buy a print of that one.

~ Yes this design is a little more cliche, but the details in the photo do make it stand out. From the cherry blossom trees to the designs on the kimono's the details are AMAZING. I also love the lighting that was used in the main design.

~ Seriously, that kimono design is awesome. Furthermore, everything about says anime/manga style, and still is far from cliche. It makes you seriously stop and look at it in great details. Man, I wonder if she is going to have a print too. Also, it's very rare to see an artist create such an awesome fan and it look consistently smooth and even, usually they end up kinda choppy or out of balance, but they did it in a PERFECT 90 degree angle. Good job.

Aww yay you put me at the top of the category. I really appreciate that.

And yes I'm so happy they picked that person. After seeing the first winner it seemed somewhat obvious that would be the second winner because of the style and what they wanted
